St Joseph’s runs a Mini Vinnies club every Tuesday from 3.30 to 4.30 (Year 6 only).

Mini-Vinnies represent the adult S.V.P church group in school. The children who take part in this club are compassionate and caring towards others. As a group we aim to help in and around school by sharing our time and ideas for the advantage of others. Duties include helping everyone in and around school; during our club time and throughout the school day wherever possible.

Church Re-opening!
Information from Fr Hastie:

Following the formation of an extensive risk assessment and deep clean of St Joseph’s Church – Murton – the church will be ready to re-open next week – Masses will be celebrated every Wednesday at 10am and Sunday at 11am. The first Mass will take place on Wednesday 12th August at 10am.

Due to Social Distancing regulations only 42 people will be able to attend Holy Mass. Consequently, anyone wishing to attend Mass on a Wednesday must prebook on Tuesday by phoning 0191 581 2221 between 5pm and 7pm and for Sunday Mass – phone the above number on Saturday between 5pm and 7pm.
(You will not be able to block book or book in advance.)

When you make a booking you will be allocated a seat. Ushers in the church will be on hand to guide attendees to their seat following a one way system.

Please note that anyone attending Mass will have their details collected to aid any required ‘track and trace’ and temperatures will be taken on entry to church.

In summary:
Anyone wishing to attend Holy Mass must book the day before since numbers are limited to 42. Those attending Mass must wear a face mask and follow the one way system.

To safeguard everyone who attends Mass individuals should ensure that they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms on entry to church.

Looking forward to welcoming everyone back to church.

Yours

Fr Hastie
