SEN Transition

How we support children/young people with SEN starting at our school

Transition: We work closely with parents and nursery settings in order to achieve a smooth as possible start to the child’s education in our school. We visit the child in their setting ensuring that we are included in reviews before they make the transition .We also have a number of induction days giving children and parents the opportunity to visit the school and experience the day in a graduated approach.

How we support children/young people with SEN moving between classes in our school

Transition is also closely supported within our school; EYFS to Key Stage 1, Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 and moving from year group to year group. If you feel that, you would like any additional support during a transition phase, please ask a member of staff.

How we support children/young people with SEN leaving our school

Transition: We work closely with our Feeder Schools in order to ensure the smoothest transition possible. This includes our staff attending appointments with parents and visiting schools with children as a friendly face in their new environment.

If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment.
