Using Our Diamond Power With Dr Tom
We recently had a very special visitor in school. Dr Tom Robson, works with schools to encourage the development of independent learning and resilience in children and to help them to see learning as a “great pleasure and something to enhance our lives.” Dr Tom visited all of our classes to help us to find out more about our learning powers.
We had a great time finding out how we learn in different ways and how we can become more effective and independent learners. We looked at finding and using our diamond, emerald and ruby powers, which all represent different strands of learning.

Tree Planting at Dalton Park
Our Year 5 children attended some tree planting at Dalton Park last week.
The event took place with Climate Action North East, who are working with Dalton Park as their environmental partner.
This was all part of the Climate Action North “Global Wilders” programme.
